Tombstone Tuesday: the Mystery of the Clark Sisters

Ruby B Henson              Mary L Graves                 Ethel D Goddard
       Oct 18, 1901                   Apr 25, 1887                    Aug 9, 1899

Meet the Clark sisters.  Ruby, Mary Lou & Ethel (and Niviae) were the daughters of Louis Sampson Clark and Francis (Fanny) S. Doran.  The dates listed on the above gravestone are their birthdates, not the dates they died.  There appears to be room for deathdates below their births.  Have you ever heard of such a thing?  For a husband or wife, yes, but sisters?  And Mary remarried after Ben Graves died, so she would have been a McDaniel at the time of her death.  Are they even buried here? (Hopedale Cemetery in Ozark, Christian Co., Missouri.)  If anyone has any information on these three ladies, I'd sure appreciate it!

Tombstone Tuesday: Mathew George

Wow!  I write about Mathew George and this morning I find his gravestone!  Which illustrates the point that you should re-visit online sources since they do tend to add new information.  I frequent Find A Grave fairly often, but I've never found any of my husband's Georges ~ this morning I not only found Mathew, but Francis Marion and his wife Annie Laurie Brewer as well!

If I keep finding possible toe-holds I will climb over that brick wall of Mathew's folks.  Just watch me!  (^.^)

Husband of
Sarah A. George
Died
